Mayday has a new organizational home! Mayday will be a community-organized parade, ceremony and festival on May 3, 2026 in Powderhorn Park. Mayday Minneapolis needs your help and support to continue for generations to come. Join us in building this grassroots structure to celebrate spring, communities, peace, and social justice for all!

Mayday Needs You Now!

Mayday Parade and Festival is now a decentralized community-run celebration! In 2025, there were over 60 community groups involved in Mayday. This Art-driven celebration will need many helping hands to grow into its new vision. We have five months to co-create a magnificent celebration.

Mayday 2026 Planning

Mayday Minneapolis is operated by a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Peer Education Health Resources (PEHR). It will Do Business As Mayday Minneapolis. This non-profit structure is driven by the community’s need and dedication to continue our beloved Mayday Parade, Ceremony and Festival and will provide the legal, fiduciary, and logistical structure necessary to operate.

The mission of Mayday Minneapolis to to enliven the Twin Cities community by producing the annual Mayday Parade, Ceremony, and Festival.

Mayday Minneapolis will organize Mayday's logistics (e.g. secure permits, barricades, safety, insurance, and sanitation) and organize logistics for community arts groups who are involved in the Parade, Park Festival and the Tree of Life Ceremony. 

Mayday Minneapolis will develop its roles and functions based on community needs and input, with the goal of being a resource to support and lift up local arts and artists.

Board Members

Mayday Minneapolis is operated by a working board. There are no paid staff. The founding board members of PEHR/Mayday Minneapolis are:

We are looking for Board Members with big picture vision, fundraising, and organizing experience to help build Mayday.

Work Groups and Volunteering

Work groups will be needed for Parade Production, Ceremony Creation, Accessibility, Fundraising, Community Connections, Marketing & Social media, clerical and IT support. There will be many opportunities and needs for volunteers, which will be posted on our website.

Funding supports the organizing, production, and infrastructure needed to make Mayday happen for all involved! The 2026 estimated budget is $150,000. We need this support to come from the Mayday community. We are applying for grants to help, but success is far from guaranteed. We all need to help fund Mayday in order to keep it. Every contribution counts, with monthly gifts being especially helpful.
