Help create the Mayday Tree of Life Ceremony!

Each year, the Tree of Life Ceremony is re-born through community conversations that connect our spring ritual to the pulse of this time and place. There is much to grieve and to celebrate this year.

We invite you, the community, to share what is on your hearts and minds this year, and what images, themes, poems, or songs resonate with the pulse of our community in this moment.

1st Community Meeting:

Tuesday, March 10 from 7-9pm

This first meeting is to collect inspiration from our community about themes and ideas for the Ceremony.

2nd Community Meeting:

Tuesday, March 24 from 7-9pm

The second meeting is to propose story ideas based on those themes and to receive feedback from the community.

Location for both Meetings: St. Paul’s Church at 2742 15th Ave S.

BUILD THE CEREMONY

Come build puppets for the Tree of Life Ceremony!

Ceremony Community Builds are:

Wednesdays, April 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29

6-9pm

Location: Semilla Center for Healing & the Arts, inside St. Paul’s Church at 2742 15th Ave S (map)

• We may also do some movement experimenting/rehearsing during the Community Build times.

• Note: These community builds are to make the puppets for the CEREMONY. Those puppets may also be used in the Parade, however, this is NOT a general community build for making puppets for the PARADE only. (We will send Parade Build info soon!) All are welcome to help make puppets for the Ceremony!

PERFORM IN THE CEREMONY

All are welcome to perform in the Tree of Life Ceremony!

Community rehearsals will be held Saturday afternoons from 2-3:30pm at the Ceremony Site at Powderhorn Park (the west side of the park near the cement stage). There is also a required dress rehearsal on the Saturday before Mayday, May 2.

Board members Heather Hinrichsen and Dan Newman did some incredible grant writing! Even with their success, we are short and need you, the community, for a push to the finish line!

Your donations support the organizing, production, and infrastructure needed to make Mayday happen. The 2026 estimated budget is $150,000. We need this support to come from the Mayday community.
