“KRSM is a low-power FM radio station based out of the Powderhorn neighborhood in South Minneapolis. Broadcasting at 98.9 FM, this is a hyper-local platform for amplifying the voices, stories, cultures, and conversations happening in our neighborhoods. Their focus is on communities that are marginalized, misrepresented, and erased by traditional media.”

“This unamplified brass band and music festival uplifts and helps prepare for the Rise and Remember festivities that take place later in May. Working within a framework of a plurality of festivals occurring simultaneously, a core goal of MinneHONK! is a strengthening of the community and cultural fabric at the grassroots level, encouraging people to get out and share music, conversations, and time in community. MinneHONK! has been made possible through funding and support from Brass Solidarity, Folk Will Save Us, Rise and Remember, and community-based organizing efforts.”
